The Produce Is Not Safe: A 2027 Calendar

The 2027 calendar is now available for purchase!

In this new edition, the geographic focus is on the eastern and midwestern United States, but many of the scenes are set in days gone by. Minnesota features more than once, including scenes inspired by its iron mining past and its sauna building Finnish immigrants, as well as New England and North Carolina. The pawpaw finally makes an appearance, or at least its flowers do - I have still never gotten a close look at the ripe fruit in the wild! (Thank the real-life squirrels for that, I guess...) The bunnies even range as far south as Florida; December's illustration is based on an old family legend of a time when a bolt of lightning hit a banana tree, and suddenly the yard was filled with fried bananas....exactly the sort of thing a clever rabbit can work with.

Now the practical part: it's designed to work as a wall calendar or a desk calendar. If you wish to use it as a desk calendar, you will find instructions between the two chipboard backers. The calendar measures approximately 5" wide by 8" tall and is wire bound. Each month features a reproduction of one of my original gouache paintings created just for this calendar. I print the pages with a laser printer on extra sturdy card stock, then I trim and bind each calendar myself. Shipping will be via USPS Ground Advantage, which is a little more expensive this year.

Due to the ever-increasing complications of carrying out international commerce from the US, I no longer ship abroad, even though I would like to. In a related note, this year's price increase is to cover another nudge up in cost of the toner cartridges that I use to print these calendars, as well as the paper that they are printed on.
