Policies and FAQs

How do you ship? Where do you ship?

I ship all orders via the US Postal Service, typically via the Ground Advantage service that has recently replaced first class for parcels.

Shipping individual paper goods in a protective mailer is a bit expensive these days, but adding addtional items to an order doesn't seem to increase the cost much. So I charge a flat shipping fee for the first item in your order, and nothing additional for anything else that can travel in the same shipment.

Orders ship from Baltimore, Maryland. I always pack my orders in stiff or padded mailers to ensure that they arrive safely. I only ship orders to addresses in the United States and Canada, although you may feel free to contact me about shipping to other destinations on a case-by-case basis. For any international order, customs duties are the responsiblity of the recipient. Sales taxes will be applied as required.

How long will it take to process my order?

I will ship all orders within a maximum of five business days from the date they are placed. Under typical circumstances, it will be much faster than that, usually within two days. If you need an order by a certain date, feel free to write me first and I'll make sure it is possible.

Do you accept returns?

I accept returns that are received in their original condition within 30 days of the original purchase date. You must contact me before sending any items back, and return shipping costs will the responsibility of the buyer.

What if there is a mistake, or my order is damaged in transit?

Above all, I want my customers to be happy. Please contact me if anything has gone wrong with your order. I may want to know some details about what happened so that I can prevent any future mishaps, but I will either replace damaged merchandise or refund the original purchase and shipping price, as you wish.

Do you accept wholesale orders?

Yes! But send me a message first. I am very happy to accomodate wholesale orders for greeting cards. Any card design you see in my shop is a possiblity, although there may be a 1-2 week lead time on large orders or anything that requires reprinting. Other product types, like books and calendars, may be available. Feel free to ask if you have a particular interest. For wholesale, I prefer a minimum order of $200 and a maximum of $2000, but exceptions are possible.

Do you accept commissions for design or illustration work? Do you offer custom letterpress printing?

Very rarely. My own retail/wholesale production fills nearly all the time I have available these days. But if you have a serious project in mind that is a great fit for my interests, I certainly don't mind if you want to send me a message.

What is your printing process? How are your items made?

I consider myself to be an illustrator with a letterpress print studio, rather than an exclusively letterpress printmaker, so I use a variety of techniques to create the work that I sell. I print all of my greeting cards myself, on my presses, from my own woodcuts and my collection of metal and wood type. I make larger art prints and posters in the same way. For my books and calendars - really, any item where I want to reproduce a painted or drawn illustration - I have a laser printer. I bind all of my books and calendars myself, using equipment ranging from an antique foot-pedal stapler to a 2022 vintage thermal perfect binding machine. Occasionally, there are things I can't do myself, such as printing my card game on playing card stock, and I will outsource tasks like that. Individual product listings will have information about specific processes, and I am always happy to answer questions.
