I created this work for an exhibition hosted by the Friends of the Patapsco Valley & Heritage Greenway and the B&O Museum to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the construction of the Thomas Viaduct. The Thomas Viaduct is one of the oldest railroad bridges in the world and still carries heavy train traffic to this day. The illustration is the culmination of weeks of reading and several visits to bridge, which is located within the Patapsco Valley State Park near Relay, Maryland.

This work was the recipient of the "People's Choice Award" at the exhibition.
